Dental Crowns.

Whether you haven’t been to the dentist in a while or are just heading in for a regular checkup, finding out that you need a crown is not good news. However, if you have a tooth that has been weakened or is at risk of breaking, getting a crown will protect the tooth and keep the problem from getting worse.

The cost of dental crowns in Fairbanks varies based on the dentist you choose and the material that is being used. Less-quality materials can cause allergic reactions and/or won’t hold up to the forces involved in chewing. At Spruce Roots Family Dentistry, we only provide high-quality gold, porcelain-fused-to-gold, porcelain fused to zirconia or all-ceramic crowns from a certified Alaskan dental lab, Castable Ceramics.

Gold Dental Crowns

Each crown material has a purpose. Gold crowns are the most durable and work well for back teeth. This type of crown is ideal for patients who are known to clench or grind their teeth. It’s not called the gold standard for nothing!

Porcelain-Fused-To- Gold Crowns

These crowns are also typically used for teeth that have been severely discolored from previous injury or dental treatment but look more like natural teeth. Porcelain-fused-to- gold crowns are slightly more expensive than gold crowns, but they are often preferred by dental patients.

Non-Metal Crowns

Thanks to technology, non-metal crowns can be used on both back teeth and front teeth. Also, non-metal crowns can be matched to the shade of your natural teeth to make sure that no one will be able to tell the difference. Zirconia, porcelain fused to zirconia or eMax (all ceramic) are all different types of non-metal crowns.
